THE WORLD’S RICHEST POKER TOUR ANNOUNCES BIGGEST SEASON YE

Juni 16, 2009

John Duthie, Chief Executive of the PokerStars.com European
Poker Tour (EPT), today announced the first half of the schedule for EPT Season Six. The European
Poker Tour is now the world’s richest poker tour in terms of both players and prize pools and is
sponsored by PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker site with over 23 million registered players
worldwide.

“The new EPT season includes many events which have made the past five seasons such a triumph
with world record breaking fields and prize pools across Europe.” said Duthie. “We have set very
high standards and we aim to improve on this still further in Season Six – with new additions to the
schedule as well as a richer mix of games and buy-ins to cater for more players.”

Last year’s PokerStars EPT season proved a massive success and overtook the WPT in terms of
amount of players and prize pools. EPT Season Five generated an overall prize pool of almost €55
million (approx $77 million USD) with 7,980 players from 97 countries of which 3,077 were
PokerStars players. The four richest prize pools available in poker tournaments outside the United
States last year occurred during the fifth season of the PokerStars EPT at: the PCA ($12.7M USD);
Monte Carlo ($12.3M USD); San Remo ($7.5M USD); and Barcelona (7M USD).

The EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final generated the biggest ever prize pool in Europe at more than €9.3
million. The Grand Final winner, newly-signed Team PokerStars Pro Netherlands member Pieter de
Korver, a 26-year-old poker pro from Leeuwarden, Holland, bested a record field of 935 players to
take the first prize of €2.3 million ($3.2 million USD).

“This year’s EPT will be bigger and better than ever, kicking off in August in one of our new
scheduled destinations – magnificent Moscow in Russia. Overall, the tour will visit an unprecedented
thirteen countries* – an increase of four events on top of last season. As well as Russia, the tour will
include new stops in Portugal this November and other destinations to be announced shortly.” said
Duthie

The PokerStars EPT Season Six looks set to continue building upon the successes of the previous
five seasons, attracting even more players and even larger prize pools. There will be more ‘Festival
of Poker’ style stops on the tour, beginning in London this October with “The Pokerstars.com EPT
London Festival at the Hilton Metropole Hotel” which will feature significant Pot-Limit Omaha and 8-
Game events, as well as the return of the popular High Roller event. The EPT London Main Event
will likely be the richest tournament ever in the United Kingdom.

Online satellites for the PokerStars EPT Moscow, Season Six start today, Monday, 15 June, 2009 on
PokerStars with buy-ins from as little as $2.22. Players who qualify on PokerStars don’t just win their
seat; they also win hotel accommodation (or cash equivalent) and spending money as part of their prize
package. The EPT invites players from around the world to participate in this exciting event in Russia’s
historic and storied capital.

POKERSTARS THE HOME OF WORLD CHAMPIONS

Juni 2, 2009

ISLE OF MAN, UK  28 MAY 2009 – PokerStars is gearing up both on and off the tables for another record breaking World Series of Poker at the Rio hotel in Las Vegas starting this Thursday,
PokerStars remains the best place not only to qualify for a seat, with numerous benefits available to PokerStars players, but also to keep track of all the action in the Amazon Room via the PokerStars blog.

Already close to 900 PokerStars players won satellites and a seat on PokerStars.com, with hundreds more likely to join them before the main event starts on July 3.

As has become the norm the PokerStars blog will be on hand to report on everything that takes place both on and off the tables. As well as the written word the video blog team will provide moving pictures with features and interviews with the players – well known and not so well known, with new faces likely to become familiar ones before a new champion is crowned.

Over the last six years PokerStars.com has become the home of World Champions with four former winners now part of the elite Team PokerStars Pro. Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem and now last year’s winner Peter Eastgate have each become icons of the game.

Moneymaker’s story is modern poker legend. His $39 spin-up encouraged thousands of amateur players to attempt the same each year and the growth of poker online is largely attributed to his success. PokerStars continues to send more players to the World Series than any other site, last year sending more than 2,000 from all over the world. That’s more than all other sites combined.
The benefits of winning a seat on PokerStars are many.

In addition to the $10,000 buy-in PokerStars qualifiers will also receive hotel accommodation at the Palms, $1,000 for travel and expenses as well as a PokerStars player bag and a shuttle bus each day to the Rio. They also receive an exclusive VIP invitation to the PokerStars Player Party on July 9.
PokerStars is also promising something else to players who win a satellite. Show up in Las Vegas and sign up with PokerStars to play the World Series and you’ll become a VIP club SuperNova instantly, able to enjoy all the trappings that come with that without putting in the hours.

Finally, over the first four days of the main event up to 500 players each day will be able to register online to play special freeroll single table tournaments worth $4,000. The top five places will win cash amounts while each STT winner will be invited to play an additional event for PokerStars passport stamps valued at around $15,000 each, which can then be used to buy packages for any PokerStars sponsored live event around the world.

PokerStars FEATURES IN A STRING OF NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

Juni 2, 2009

ISLE OF MAN, UK – JUNE 2ND 2009 – PokerStars has hit the big time with a starring role in a load of great new music videos which show that just about anyone can become a star in poker – including world-famous rappers like Snoop Dogg and American pop star Katy Perry.
The video for the latest Katy Perry track Waking Up In Vegas features the 24-year-old singer trying her luck at just about everything in Vegas, including going heads-up against Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. Daniel is shown burying his head in his hands as Katy scoops a massive pot after hitting quad Aces on the river and telling the poker legend to “Go call his mother”.
Katy is also shown larging it up at the Palms hotel – which is about to turn into the “PokerStars hotel” during the World Series of Poker main event  in July.
In the video for Groove On, Russian RnB star Timati and the inimitable Snoop collaborate with a gorgeous FBI agent to nail a card-playing villain  -distracting the crook in a high-stakes cash game while the agent snags vital evidence. The video, which has been watched over 400,000 times on YouTube and PokerStars.tv, features a substantial amount of poker, beautiful girls, luxury cars and villas and, to cap it all, a PokerStars-branded private jet.
The video for Fabolous’ new single “My Time” featuring Jeremih is styled like a film trailer and shows the singer’s homies playing poker with a PokerStars deck – as well as a New York street scene featuring a PokerStars billboard.
Response from the poker community has been enthusiastic about the videos and it seems clear that the music/poker cross-over is about to take off in a big way.
There has also been considerable interest from players about how to get their hands on a PokerStars jet – as featured in the Snoop Dogg video. Unfortunately aeroplanes aren’t available at the PokerStars’ VIP store just yet – but a Porsche Cayman S sports car is up for grabs for anyone with three million Frequent Player Points!
