Here come the girls
They played a cracker through the night at EPT London, did the same at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure enjoying a luxury Spa beforehand laughed with champagne at Deauville and even played on come hell or high water at the EPT in Berlin last week. Now the EPT ladies are heading to Monte Carlo where the EPT is hosting another premier ladies only tournament on the Riviera alongside the grand final starting 27 April. As youd expect theyll be the added bonuses as PokerStars sends ladies to Monte Carlo in style, with packages worth 3,500 including entry into the 1,100 ladies event as well as a place in Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Roussos ladies boot camp. Not only that, players winning their package on PokerStars will get spending money and accommodation at the Columbus Monaco Hotel. Time to get online and qualify. Check out the tournament lobby for more details. Ladies only need apply.
From Monte Carlo to Manila
The Asia Pacific Poker Tour is gearing up for its third season starting in May, but before that a special pre-tour event has been added to the Asian calendar, a $2,500 buy-in event set to take place in Manila next week.
The Pagcor Chairmans Cup kicks off on with a guaranteed US$1 million prize pool on Saturday 20 March in the Philippine capital, likely to attract the very best, and wannabe best, from around the region. The six day tournament will be played at the Manila Pavilion before shifting to the SMX Convention Centre across town for the final table. It should fill the gap between now and the tours official start and as usual you can follow the action on the PokerStars Blog (http://www.pokerstarsblog.com ).
Let it snow
Snowfest is now just days away, a test of uphill poker prowess and downhill balance as packages include tournament seat and passes onto the slopes of Saalbach-Hinterglemm, near Salzburg. Its another new addition to the European Poker Tours sixth season, taking place at the Alpine Palace Card Casino high up in the Austrian Alps. Already several hundred players have won their place on PokerStars, for what promises to be one of the most curious stops on the tour. The hills will be alive to the sound of poker chips and what odds at least one player reaches the final wearing a plaster cast? Regardless itll certainly be worth watching, either by getting to Austria yourself and playing or following the action on the PokerStars Blog (http://www.pokerstarsblog.com ), with day one on Sunday
21 March.
The new biggest game in town
Forget Al Alvarezs masterpiece The Biggest Game in Town, poker just got larger, literally. PokerStars provided the chips, more like large satellite dishes, for two England international rugby stars to play, well, the biggest poker game ever, with cards bigger than each of them and chip stacks big enough to tackle. Its one way to separate the men form the boys, or maybe the men from the childish. Looks like great fun though, as you can see for yourself in all its glory on the PokerStars YouTube site or on the PokerStars Blog (http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/2010/the-biggest-
poker-game-ever-065634.html).
Set sail for the Americas Cup of Poker
Never short of ideas when it comes to pitting country against country across the poker tables PokerStars last year devised the Americas Cup, exclusive to players on the western side of the Atlantic, with preliminaries as baffling, but as rewarding as the World Cup of Poker. At its heart are teams of online qualifiers, captained by a Team PokerStars Pro, battling it out at a live $150,000 final table at Iguaza Falls in Argentina. Eight countries will be represented, each competing for a $50,000 first prize but before that qualifying events begin on 15 March on PokerStars. So if youre from anywhere between Canada and Chile, Brazil and Bolivia, it might be worth checking out the PokerStars promotions page
(http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/promotions/americas-cup/) for your chance to take part.
